Trinity Cheltenham has recently announced some proposals for the development of its town centre site. The £4m proposals include a re-ordering of the main church building to increase capacity to approximately 1000 seats, to enable more of the congregation to worship together. In addition there are plans for the extension and redevelopment of its Trinity House site to increase facilities for the ever growing mid-week activities of the church serving the community such as supporting and feeding the vulnerable and homeless, as well as caring for the elderly, single parents and mothers, or carers, with their toddlers.
Key design elements of the proposals include:
A new entrance with steps and a ramp (improving disabled access) leading to glass doors.
New seating inside, particularly with respect to the balcony, and glass screen improving visibility to the stage from all parts of the building.
A new hall on the Trinity house car park with an angled, raised roof to maximise the light entering the building.
A new circular tower, entrance, and extension on the Winchcombe Street side of Trinity House.
