Heart Head Hands Day

On Saturday 27th June, Trinity Cheltenham hosted it’s annual HHH day for worship leaders and their teams from our own church family here in Cheltenham, as well as many other churches from around the region. Our main speaker for the day was Alan Scott from the Causeway Coast Vineyard in Northern Ireland, and seminar leaders included Eoghan Heaslip and Mark Jones (Psalm Drummers).

Neil Bennetts, who hosted the day, says “I have heard so much great stuff at worship days around the country over the years, but very rarely am I so surprised by the quality and freshness of the teaching as I was this weekend. The theme of the day was Worship and the Kingdom of God, and Alan spoke into this subject through the lens of honour. It was outstanding”.

Heart Head Hands days gather together worship leaders and their teams from many churches around the South West, and is also a focus for the New Wine worship leaders network in this part of the county. “Our main hope for the day is that people will come to Trinity and be inspired by what is essentially an extended time of worship, teaching and ministry – three things that are at the core of the way we do church here. In fact, most of the day is given over to the larger gathering where we worship, seek God together, and pray for one another in the power of the Holy Spirit.”

The day started with worship led by Jules Woodbridge and David Gate, and teaching from Alan. You can download the podcast of this session on this website here. In the afternoon we had some seminars – Worship Leading (Eoghan Heaslip); Loving Your Church (David Gate); Songwriting (Neil Bennetts); Percussion (Mark Jones) and Sound Engineering (Al Hogg). Then it was back together again where the chairs were removed, the volume turned up, and we had a time of massive celebration and more ministry, which went on well beyond the official closing time as we lingered in the presence of God.

“We were hugely encouraged by the day” Neil concludes, “and we love having this chance to grow in worship together with so many friends and worship leaders that we share so much of a common vision with”.
