Harry and Sandy Steven have been out in Kenya, spending some time reviewing our work in different areas and helping deliver prayer ministry training. Peter Lark also joined them and they had a really great time - report later!
Calling all teachers!
Do you have a passion for empowering other teachers? Experience of delivering INSET? Ideas for resources that enable children to think for themselves? Skills in areas such as Young Enterprise, team building and problem solving? A heart for seeing God's excellence in education? If so, WE NEED YOU!!!!
We would like to gather together a group of teachers who are keen to plan and support the October trip to Kilgoris, Kenya where we have the opportunity to support Bishop Jackson in his vision for excellence in education throughout the Kericho Diocese. This will take the form of a mini teacher conference. You do not need to necessarily come out to Kenya to be part of this opportunity. If you are interested, please contact Sarah Milthorp
PRAYER & TESTIMONIES
Prayer is a vital part of our support for the Mission Partners. Here at Trinity each partner is encouraged to have a ‘Champion’ who will predominately coordinate the prayer support, but also act as the main link back to Trinity for that partner. If you would like to be part of a support group for any of our partners, please contact us.

Hannah Bailey (Nicaragua) June 8th, 2011
Hannah sent this recently. Coming to the end of our first week in our new placement in Esteli! Such an amazing place, with amazing generous people who are making us feel so welcome. Lots of members of the church have dropped round welcome presents...we now have a few bannana tree´s and are trying to make our way through them all! We are living in the church itself, sleeping on the church floors and being cooked for by the pastors family! Lots of rice and beans! There are loads of opportunities for kids work within the church and outside it too. We are starting outreach projects soon, will be going onto the rubbish dumps to evangelise, and working with street kids in the local area. We also will be running some worship workshops, and leading worship in most services, as well as preaching. We only have 7 here, and are very excited to see how God is going to work! Please pray for energy for the team, for our work to be fruitful and long-lasting, and to see the Kingdom of God move in this place! Missing you all, H x
Hannah said that she would love post, espically chocolate and sweets so if you would like to send her anything please e-mail sarah.milthorp@trinitycheltenham.com for more details.

Sarah Milthorp (India) April 8th, 2011
Heading out to India today to work with a local community in the north of India , (near Darjeeling). She will be spending time encouraging the small community of believers in a predominantly Bhuddist and Hindu village, working with house groups and the local pastor and also spending time working with the local school. Please pray for:
-safety (they are due to have an election there, and there is often political unrest),
-anointing for speaking directly into situations she comes across and the times that she is asked to speak and that she would be a real encouragement to the believers there.

Pray for healing for eyestrain- 'I’m unable to read or use a computer for hardly any length of time at all, and when I do I either get double vision or trigger off a headache. Also, since this new semester has started I’ve been more intentionally asking the Lord what he specifically wants me to do/sow into for him while I’m here in China. Options include helping out at a ‘boot camp’ where teenagers are sent if their parents feel their studies are not good enough. I’ve also heard of a coffee shop in X that runs an English corner, the owners are believers and are looking for someone to help them run it one evening a week, which sounds great! In the same area there is a ‘club’ that runs ‘book study’ in English, a bit like an Alpha type set up, with discussion groups etc. as well as needing English speakers to help facilitate the groups, they are looking for someone to give some basic worship training to the current team there – nothing technical thankfully (!), so I might be able to get involved with that. Essentially I need God’s leading, and the right doors to open/close, prayers much appreciated!
Lydia David April 8th, 2011
Essentially she’s had a bit of a hard week or two, she was (and still is, but much better) down with shingles, and also her internet is not working, and currently showing no signs of being fixed in the near future! So she’s sorry she can’t send an update, please pray for her too – for the things mentioned above, but also she has an important trip coming up in the next few weeks to the area that she may move to.
Liz Williams (Chad) March 30th, 2011
Liz asks for prayer for two topics in particular:
- this week we have a translation workshop on James, involving four languages (Guergiko, Sokoro, Dajo and Migaama). Having lots of fun trying to think through what it means and how to express it these languages, especially in temperatures of 40+ degC! We'll do the second half of the week before Easter. Pray especially for the Dajo translators, who are Muslim.
- from 4-9 April we have our next (and final for this year) story workshop, in which we'll develop 3 new stories in 10 languages (Elijah. and the prophets of Baal, the 3 men in the furnace and a general summary of the period between the exile and the coming of Jesus. Several of the participants are Muslim, and most of the groups that will be told these stories are Muslim too.

Hannah Bailey (Nicaragua) March 30th, 2011
Hannah writes - "I am here! Nicaragua is a beautiful country...very colourful and green! It is soo hot! We have received such a warm welcome from the church. Accommodation is very basic- we have a bedroom for 6 girls which is fun! The team are getting on well too. The church is very different...but great! loong services and I have never clapped so much in my life! We are hard at work on the building site already- it is hard in the sun and very tiring but such a privilege to be serving the church and the people of the church in this practical way. This week holds lots of youth work, more building and cell groups, which involve walking door to door evangelising apparently...should be fun! All is well for me personally, am loving the beauty of this place, making new friends and drawing closer to God.
Thank you for all of your prayers.
I would really appreciate prayer for:
-energy for the team
-not missing home too much!
-protection
-language (I am desperate to improve my Spanish to get more involved)"

Heather Bellchamber (Mozambique) March 10th, 2011
Here are some prayer request we received from Heather this week:
- A little girl who went missing a week ago, as she never came home from school. She is a daughter of one of our workers here.
- The family, friends and co-workers of one of our workers, Louis, who died suddendly on Saturday. It's quite a shock, as he fixed my roof on Friday! We think he was poisoned but they're not sure.
- Zaida, one of my little girls, who has just been diagnosed with epilepsy.
- Lots of the girls have conjunctivitis. Pray that they would get healed and it would stop spreading.
- Shelton, one of our little boys in hospital who is very sick.
- One of my good friends, a missionary here, who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer and has to go back to the States to receive treatment.
Lets keep joining with Heather in praying for these things.
