There are many things about life that are confusing, why is it that triangular sandwiches taste better than square ones? Is it ok to eat green crisps? Can you describe the smell of a wet cat? Why is there nothing more humiliating than calling your teacher “Mum” or “Dad”? How can you look cool whilst picking up a frisbee? These are all very valid dilemmas which strike on a regular basis, but there are bigger questions in life such as “what is life all about?” “what happens when you die?” and “is there a God?” that are just too scary to think about sometimes.
What’s it all about?
If you could ask God one question, what would it be? seek:er is a place to ask those questions, to have fun, eat food and find faith. If you want to explore faith or you want to bring some friends who do, then this is the place for you.
What happens at seek:er?
A typical night at seek:er will start with food. We sit and eat together which gives us a chance to catch up with each other. Then each week a different speaker is invited to come and talk about different topics like “is there a God?” or “why does God allow suffering?”, they might use videos, music, games or interactive challenges. Afterwards we split up into smaller groups to discuss what you think. These groups are about putting your point of view across and listening to what your friends think. Your opinion is always valid and whatever you say, it won’t be wrong! The evening ends with everyone coming back together for a short time to think about what you’ve heard in the evening.
When and where is it?
seek:er is on Friday nights, alternating with re:group for those in school years 7 to 10, from 7pm till 9pm in Trinity Fusion. Young people in school years 11, 12 and 13 wishing to explore the Christian faith further should look at alpha.
