Health and Safety

Our commitment to keep our buildings & the people within, safe

We strive, as far as reasonably practicable, to maintain high standards of health, safety and welfare for our staff, volunteers and visitors.

At Trinity we take Health and Safety very seriously to ensure we comply with our legal duty of care under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. We will provide a safe workplace for staff and volunteers and a safe environment for all those who join us to worship at Trinity Cheltenham.

Our Health & Safety policy document details our commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all those using our premises, and also sets out the responsibilities and arrangements for achieving this.

As part of our duty of care, all our employed staff and volunteers will receive an individualised agreement detailing our church’s DNA & values, our expectations with regards to privacy & confidentiality, to abide by our health & safety policies, and to complete the appropriate training. In return, the agreement highlights Trinity’s commitment to support & prayers, provide training & a safe environment, and to handle any problem well.

All our ministries, events, conferences are all individually risk assessed and fully insured, whether taking place on site or off site, and with particular attention to those involving children, youth and vulnerable adults to ensure risks are identified and minimised.

The appropriate risk assessment & mitigation documents are kept by the activity’s team leader at all times, and we are fortunate to have many of our staff team and volunteers having completed first aid training.

We have a comprehensive food management system policy in place. Our catering facilities are registered with Cheltenham Borough Environmental Health Department, from whom we received a 5 star food hygiene rating.

Regular building inspections are undertaken under the direction of our Operations Manager and with the help of our maintenance team, establishing a list of necessary repairs and setting priority for the work completion.  We have service contracts in place with local companies to ensure we provide buildings and facilities fit for use and fully compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
