Spear Coach - Cheltenham

Spear Cheltenham, in partnership with Trinity, is looking for a dynamic Part-Time Spear Coach to help transform young lives. For over three years, we've successfully helped local young people overcome barriers and step into work. Now, we need a new coach to help us expand our reach and deepen our impact. Key Information:

  • You will be employed by Trinity Cheltenham reporting to the Centre Manager, with operational oversight and training from Spear

  • Part-Time, initially one-year Fixed-Term, Tuesday – Thursday, with occasional evening work for events such as our Spear Celebrations

  • Salary: from £26,883 FTE (pro rata 0.6 - £16,130)

  • 21 days annual leave, with one additional day per year of service up to a max of 31 days, plus bank holidays

  • Closing date: Tuesday 9th June (we interview on a rolling basis and may close the role early if we find the right candidate)

Person Specification:

  • An active Christian that is committed to grow and learn spiritually as a Christian leader and represent the values and ethos of the Spear charity, Trinity Cheltenham and St Paul’s churches.

  • A confidence in group facilitation, and a desire to learn and understand coaching techniques.

  • Passion for social justice and for working as part of the church to transform communities, especially supporting young people in employment or education.

  • An ambitious and self-motivated individual with the ability to exercise initiative, prioritise workload and work well under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High emotional intelligence, and a sense of humour and fun!

Catering Manager

Location: Trinity Cheltenham

Job Type: Part-time (0.8 FTE, 30 hours weekly over 44 weeks)

Salary: £18,311 per annum (equivalent to hourly rate £13.78)

Closing Date: Sunday 7th June 2026

Much of Jesus' ministry and teaching revolved around meals and the table. At Trinity, we consider the provision of food and hospitality to be a key part of our ministry. We are looking for someone who shares that same passion for food service and community outreach in this way.

You will be leading a team implementing and coordinating all aspects of catering and food provision required to support the needs of our various ministries. You will deliver high-quality food service whilst maintaining a focus on cost-effectiveness and ensuring adherence to food safety regulations. You will have experience of catering in a busy kitchen, working with volunteers along with strong organisational and excellent communication skills. Your joy for life and willingness to look for the best in people will shine through. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking food for weekly groups and one-off events

  • Implementing and monitoring all aspects of delivering food in compliance with Health and Safety legislation

  • Liaise with ministry leaders to meet their catering requirements ensuring best value provision 

  • Recruit and lead a catering team to support Trinity’s ministries

  • Build on and sustain our key partnerships with local organisations and food companies

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum three years catering in a busy kitchen

  • Minimum three years experience in Food Safety management

  • Experience of leading a team of volunteers

  • Experience in developing strategic partnership with key organisations

  • Experience in working with and serving vulnerable guests

  • Strong organisational and time management skills 

  • Passion for food service and community outreach

  • Ability to work and manage role with flexibility
